For those who don’t already know and love The Coliseum, prepare for a real treat! Built as a theatre in 1904-5 by David Phillips, it was the venue for at least 5,000 events including Eisteddfodau and political meetings. It became a cinema in the early 1930s and was run by Harry Gale and his wife Olive. He chose the motto ‘Amusement without vulgarity’. Now part of Ceredigion Museum and ideal for The Bear!
After the interval join us for Tatyana’s Party Pieces, a light hearted take on the birthday party scene from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and a taster of MWO’s Spring 2018 Main Stage tour. These performances are part of Wales’ R17 commemorations for the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution and are performed by arrangement with Oxford University Press.
