New Production for 2012

Madam Butterfly, our stunning 2011 production, has sadly finished its tour but plans are already afoot for next year's offering which will be a brand new production of Mozart's Don Giovanni. Watch this space for further details.


Noye’s Fludde

Our exciting new project Noye’s Fludde has been to Brecon and Aberystwyth where nearly 250 children and adults from each locality had the chance to take part in Benjamin Britten's fantastic opera. Involving a thousand children across Wales, this celebration of music and life offers something for everyone. Top Ten Opera 2010

Mid Wales Opera is proud to have been picked as ‘2010 best team-effort’ by Rupert Christiansen of The Telegraph ‘for a modestly scaled but crisply executed and entertaining production of Verdi’s Falstaff, a work that even the most celebrated opera house can’t pull off.’

What is Opera?

"What is Opera?" Our education project, What is Opera?, offers an introduction to the exciting world of opera. Clare Williams, experienced arts practitioner leads a half-day workshop in which the participants learn how opera can tell a story like no other. To discuss this workshop coming to your school in the future, please contact the MWO office.
