Welsh Soprano Elin Pritchard studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the National Opera Studio. A Samling Artist, her recent and future operatic roles include title role Tosca (Mid Wales Opera), Alice Ford Falstaff and title role Manon Lescaut (The Grange Festival); Musetta La bohème (Opera Holland Park and ENO); Giorgetta Il tabarro (Opera Holland Park and Mid Wales Opera), Mimì La Bohème (Welsh National Opera and Longborough Festival Opera); Ofglen The Handmaid’s Tale (ENO); Kupava The Snow Maiden, Nedda Pagliacci, Flowermaiden Parsifal, Vixen The Cunning Little Vixen and Zemfira Aleko (Opera North) Rusalka (Garsington and at the Edinburgh Festival).
Only a few months ago we thought Mid Wales Opera was finished. Now, thanks to a funding lifeline from Powys County Council, we are within touching distance of having a sustainable plan to keep on producing live and local opera across Wales for at least three years.
