Rachel studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama funded by a Laura Ashley Foundation Scholarship. Recent engagements include Suzuki Madama Butterfly, Second Lady The Magic Flute and Tisbe La Cenerentola. A popular concert artist, she recently performed the Alto solo in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and can be heard singing the roles of Black Cat and Squirrel in an animated film of L’enfant et les sortilèges used in schools in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Rachel joined Grange Park Opera Chorus performing in their online Quarantines Chorus and is excited to join the extra chorus of Welsh National Opera.
Only a few months ago we thought Mid Wales Opera was finished. Now, thanks to a funding lifeline from Powys County Council, we are within touching distance of having a sustainable plan to keep on producing live and local opera across Wales for at least three years.
