Welsh born soprano Stephanie Smith studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music. Stephanie is also a recent Masters Graduate of the Wales International Academy of Voice. Operatic experience includes Barbarina The Marriage of Figaro (Mid Wales Opera) chorus in Tosca (Abu Dhabi Festival) and Pamina Die Zauberflöte (Amsterdam Opera Studio). She also recently performed with Max Richter in his composition of Voices for the Festival of Voice at the Wales Millennium Centre. Alongside her performing career, Stephanie works in the community, teaching singing as well as delivering many Outreach projects for Mid Wales Opera. She is excited to be back on stage with MWO for their Spring Tour.
Only a few months ago we thought Mid Wales Opera was finished. Now, thanks to a funding lifeline from Powys County Council, we are within touching distance of having a sustainable plan to keep on producing live and local opera across Wales for at least three years.
