Sensational Summer Music at the Gregynog Hall

The Friends of Mid Wales Opera’s popular summer concert will take place in the glorious setting of the Music Room at Gregynog Hall near Newtown on Sunday July 21st starting at 6pm.

The evening will once again be led by superb pianist Charlotte Forrest, and showcase talented young singers from across Wales. Soprano Angharad Davies was previously part of MWO’s production of Handel’s Semele, soprano Rhiannon Ashley and bass Emyr Jones, both students at the Royal Northern College of Music, performed with us in the Spring’s production of Dido and Aeneas.

Join MWO and Friends for an evening of operatic treats – and enjoy a long interval to explore the Hall’s beautiful grounds. Bring a picnic!

The evening is also a great opportunity to hear about Mid Wales Opera’s coming season with a SmallStages tour of Mrs Peachum’s Guide to Love and Marriage, based on John Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera, opening in November and a tour of Mozart’s enduring classic The Marriage of Figaro in Spring 2020 in partnership with the Wales International Academy of Voice.

Funds raised at the event support MWO’s education work, taking performers into schools across Montgomeryshire, which reached 980 children in 10 schools earlier this year.

Tickets cost £16 and are now only available on the door – cash or cheque only.
